Shortcut spaghetti With Meat sauce

• 2 teaspoons ghee or extra-virgin olive oil
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 2 pounds ground beef
• 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
• 1 tablespoon dried parsley
• 2 teaspoons onion powder
• 1½2 teaspoons sea salt
• ½ teaspoon cracked black pepper
• ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
• 5 cups store-bought spaghetti sauce (see Tidbits)
• pasta alternative of your choice (see Serving
Suggestions)
Directions
method
1. Heat the ghee in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Sauté the garlic for 1 minute, until fragrant. Add the beef and seasonings, reduce the heat to medium, and cook for 10 minutes, until the beef is cooked through. Drain any grease.
2. Pour in the spaghetti sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Serve over the pasta substitute of your choice.
Roasted spaghetti squash is a wonderful spaghetti substitute.
Follow the method on page 204, omitting the Roma tomatoes.
Spiral-sliced or julienned yellow squash or zucchini noodles (ste the Tidbits on page 194) or sweet potato noodles (page 156) also work well.
For a change from noodles, steamed broccoli also serves as a wonderful bed to hold this hearty sauce.
