Crispy Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings

4 lbs chicken wings

2 tbsp salt

2 tbsp baking powder

2 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp pepper

2 cups buffalo hot sauce (I used Franks RedHot original hot sauce)

1/2 cup dairy-free butter (or butter if not dairy-intolerant)

1/4 cup lemon juice

1 tbsp Italian seasoning

1 tbsp coconut sugar

Preheat your oven to 425

Pat the chicken wings dry and add them to a large bowl

Toss the wings with salt, pepper, and baking powder until evenly coated

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper (you will likely need 2) and place a wire rack on the baking sheet (this is optional but will hep with crisping up the wings)

Place the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, if using, and bake for about 1 hour until golden brown (for larger wings add 15 minutes)

While the wings are baking, add your buffalo sauce, butter, lemon juice, italian seasoning, and coconut sugar to a small saucepan and bring to a simmer, stirring until just combined, and then remove from heat

Add the baked wings to a bowl and toss with buffalo wing sauce until evenly coated

Serve and enjoy!
