Health is wealth. And now that Dry January is over (I wasn’t participating), why not ease into a nice wellness related cocktail? You thought I was going to say gin tonic huh.

Dave Arnold’s Liquid Intelligence argues that a time infusion of turmeric in alcohol actually develops off flavors- so he proposed using a cream whipper to infuse. It really does work, even though there’s a bit more prepwork involved.

1 ½ oz Turmeric Infused Gin

½ oz Lemon Juice

Top with ginger beer

candied ginger as a garnish

Add gin and juice to a highball glass with ice and stir until chilled, then top with ginger beer. Briefly stir to incorporate, then add candied ginger.

Turmeric infused gin

500 ml gin

100 g turmeric, peeled and cut into discs.

2 n2o charges

Add gin and turmeric to a cream whipper and charge with 2 n2o charges, shaking in between charges. Wait 2 minutes and 30 seconds, then vent and listen for the bubbles to subside. Decant, press on the turmeric to extract more gin, and let it sit for 10 minutes before placing it in the fridge.
