Nacho Cheese Doritos Mozzarella Sticks

8 mozzarella string cheese sticks

2 large eggs, beaten

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos

Oil spray or cooking oil

Marinara sauce, for dipping

Directions:

Place the mozzarella string cheese sticks in the freezer for 30 to 60 minutes to ensure they remain firm during cooking.

Crush the Nacho Cheese Doritos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing them with a rolling pin.

Prepare three separate bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with the crushed Doritos crumbs.

Remove the frozen mozzarella sticks from the freezer.

Roll each mozzarella stick in the flour, coating all sides evenly and shaking off any excess.

Dip the floured mozzarella stick into the beaten eggs, ensuring it is completely coated.

Roll the stick in the crushed Doritos crumbs, pressing gently so the coating adheres well.

For a thicker and crispier coating, dip the coated stick back into the beaten eggs and then into the Doritos crumbs a second time.

Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a tray or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Freeze the coated mozzarella sticks for an additional 20 to 30 minutes to help prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during cooking.

For air frying, lightly spray the mozzarella sticks with oil and place them in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 5 to 7 minutes, or until golden brown, crispy, and the cheese is melted inside.

For baking, place the mozzarella sticks on a lined baking sheet and lightly spray with oil.

Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Carefully remove from the air fryer or oven and allow them to cool for 1 to 2 minutes.

Serve warm with marinara sauce or nacho cheese sauce for dipping.
