Meatball Sub

1 lbs ground sirloin

1/2 lb mild Italian ground pork

2 eggs

1/3 cup grated parmesan

1 tbsp oregano

3/4 cup panko bread crumbs

32oz raos

Fresh basil

Publix hoagie bread

Provolone

1. Gentle combine pork and beef

2. In a separate bowl whisk eggs then add parmesan, oregano, prosciutto and mix until combined

3. Add black pepper and generous pinch of kosher salt to mixture, mix again

4. Then mix in panko crumbs. Then add ground meat, add a splash of milk to help hydrate meat

5. Shape meat into roughly 2 tbsp balls creating 24

6. Using a large saute pan full with 3 tbsp of avocado oil at medium-high heat waiting to let the oil get very hot. Add meatballs and let sit for 2-3 minutes and individually flip each one once and let sit for a other 2-3 minutes, will still be raw but we want a nice crush on two sides

7. Add Rao's sauce to meatballs over medium heat for 8-10 minutes to fully cook meatballs. You want an active simmer/bubbling

8. Add salt or pepper if needed

9. Cut bread in half but leaving the two sides still connected place in oven for a few minutes on broil to lightly toast

10. In a small bowl add a couple tbsp of olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper and mix. Then add the oil to the bread once toasted

11. Add meatballs and sauce to bread topping with provolone

12. Place the sub back in the oven on broil to let cheese melt

13. Top with parmesan and finely sliced fresh basil
