½ Cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
½ Cup Organic cane sugar
⅓ Cup Very hot water
¼ Tsp Sea Salt
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

Combine all the ingredients in a mason jar, shake, and store in the fridge! Make sure the water is really hot so it dissolves the sugar. It may seem thin initially, but it will thicken quite a bit when refrigerated. It lasts refrigerated for about a month, however it’s usually gone way before then.
I have had so many suggestions to use honey or coconut sugar in place of the cane sugar. I was going for a copycat Starbucks mocha sauce when I originally made this recipe, and organic cane sugar was the best option for that.
But I finally decided to try it, and I replace the sugar with half coconut sugar and half raw honey. It was SO good!!!! It’s even kid approved so looks like we are making the switch for good on this recipe!
Sometimes I use cacao for a healthier option, but it clumps a little more so you may need to heat it in a small pan and whisk on the stove if the clumps don’t dissolve easily.
We eat as cleanly as possible, but even when buying already made products from health food stores, ingredients sneak in that I would rather not feed my family. This easy to make chocolate sauce is perfect for chocolate milk, mochas, ice cream... really any way you would use chocolate sauce, without all the crap!!
