Baklava

1/2 orange --rind
1/2 lemon --rind
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 1/2 cups water
1 pound shelled walnuts
1/2 pound shelled pecans
1/2 cup sugar
6 ounces melted, unsalted butter
1/2 pound frozen phyllo pastry leaves
วิธีทำ
Brush 9x13 pan with butter; heat oven to 375
For syrup, put rind and sugar in food processor (remove rind with vegetable peeler)
Process with metal blade for 45-60 sec
Put in saucepan with water; heat to simmering
Stir, uncovered, until slightly thickened
Cool, strain and discard strainer contents
Grind nuts in food processor, adding remaining sugar to mixture
Brush phyllo with butter; fold in half
Sprinkle evenly with ground nuts
Repeat buttering and nut layer until nuts are gone
Gently press down top layer to pack nuts and dough into dish
Place two buttered folded sheets on top of last layer of nuts
Brush top with butter and bake for 25 minutes
Cool 5 minutes
Pour syrup over top of baklava
Let sit 4-6 hours
