Almond-Coconut Candy Bars

BASE
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup chocolate cookie crumbs
FILLING
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 1/2 cups coconut
3/4 cup flour
36 almonds
GLAZE
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons butter
วิธีทำ
Heat oven to 350
Line 9x13 pan with foil and spray with Pam
Melt chips and butter; stir in cookie crumbs
Spead evenly in pan
Refrigerate for 15 minutes
Beat egg whites until soft peaks form
Gradually add sugar, til stiff peaks form
Add vanilla and almond extract; Blend well
Stir in coconut and flour til well-mixed
Spread filling evenly over base
Arrange almonds over bars in 6x6 rows
Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes, or til lightly browned and center is set
Melt glaze ingredients; drizzle glaze over bars
Cool at least 4 hours
