Buttermilk Biscuits

2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
5 tablespoons chilled vegetable shortening
1 cup buttermilk
วิธีทำ
Preheat oven to 425
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda
Using pastry blender or two knives, cut in shortening
Add buttermilk, tossing with fork til dough forms
Turn dough out onto floured surface
Gather into a disk; knead a few times til smooth
(Can be wrapped in plastic and stored in frig for up to 2 hours Pat dough to 3/4" thick
Cut out biscuits
Place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet
Bake til golden, about 12-15 minutes; serve warm
