Red Velvet Cake*

1/2 cup butter
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 ounces red food colors
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup sour milk
1 tablespoon vinegar
2-1/2 cups cake flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
ICING
5 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
วิธีทำ
Cream sugar, butter and vanilla
Add one egg at a time and beat
Make paste with food color and cocoa
Add to sugar mixture
Sift flour and add salt
Add flour and milk alternately to creamed mixture
Begin and end with color mixture
Combine vinegar and soda; add to mix
Pour into 2-8" pans
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes
Cool on racks and then split in half
Ice only in-between layers
For icing, cook flour and milk; cool
Beat sugar, butter, and vanilla til fluffy
Add flour mixture and beat in
