Mom’s Recipes
Glazed Yeast Doughnuts*

1-1/2 cups scalded milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup butter
4 packages dry yeast (6 if doubled)
2 eggs
5 cups flour
GLAZE
2 tablespoons flour
2 pounds powdered sugar
3/4 cup hot water
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
วิธีทำ
Add sugar, salt, butter, and yeast to milk
Mix and stir in half of the flour
Beat in eggs, then remaining flour
Knead on floured board
Rise until double; punch down and rise again
Turn out onto floured board and roll to 1/2" thick
Cut and let rise til double
Fry in oil; drain and dip in glaze
For glaze, mix and boil til sugar dissolves
Turn to low
If it crystalizes, make another batch
