LUSCIOUS LIME CHIFFON PIE

Crust:
1 1/4 c. finely crushed pretzels
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. margarine or butter, melted
Filling:
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. fresh lime juice
1/4 c. water
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp. grated lime peel
2 drops green food coloring
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. whipping cream, whipped
Additional whipped cream and lime slices
วิธีทำ
Crust:
Butter a 9" pie pan. In a small bowl, combine pretzel crumbs, sugar, and margarine. Press in bottom and up sides of prepared pan. Refrigerate.
Filling:
In small saucepan, combine gelatin, sugar, lime juice, water, and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils and thickens (about 5-6 minutes). Remove from heat; stir in lime peel and food coloring. Refrigerate about 15-20 minutes or until mixture mounds slightly.
In large bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. Fold gelatin mixture into egg whites. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into prepared crust. Refrigerate until firm. Garnish with additional whipped cream and lime slices.
