Salisbury Steak with Onions and Gravy Recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 lbs ground beef

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1 egg

1/4 cup milk

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 onions, thinly sliced

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp dried thyme

Directions

In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, and pepper. Form into 4-6 patties.

Brown patties in a skillet over medium heat, then remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, sauté onions until soft. Sprinkle flour over onions, cook for 1 minute.

Gradually stir in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Bring to a simmer.

Return patties to skillet, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the meat is cooked through and the gravy thickens.
