5 Minute Cheesy Garlic Bread

80 g (2¾ oz) unsalted butter
1 tbsp freshly minced garlic
1 tbsp finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
1 tsp sea salt flakes
1 baguette, cut into thick 1.5 cm (½ inch) slices
1½ cups (225 g) grated melting cheese (see note 1) (optional)
Directions
Preheat the oven grill (broiler).
Make the garlic butter
– Melt the butter in 10-second intervals in the microwave until it softens (it will take roughly 20 seconds).
Mix in the garlic, parsley and salt using a spoon.
Spread the butter on the bread
– Spread the butter mixture on one side of the bread slices.
Add the cheese
– Top each slice with the grated cheese, if using.
Grill (broil) –
Place your bread on a baking tray (use two trays if needed so that no pieces overlap). Grill (broil) for 2–5 minutes. The bread will cook quickly so keep an eye on it.
Serve
– Serve immediately.
