Cream Pie

1/3c flour
1/8tsp salt
3 egg yolks
2c milk
1/4tsp vanilla
2tbsp butter
Meringue
3 egg whites
1/4tsp vanilla
1/4tsp cream of tartar
3tbsp powdered sugar
A pinch of salt
Directions
Combine butter, sugar, flour, egg yolks. Add milk slowly. Stirring constantly, cook over hot water until thick and smooth. Pour into pie crust.
Meringue
Pour egg whites into a spotless clean bowl. Whip eggs whites until they are glossy and smooth. Add vanilla, cream of tartar and salt. Slowly add sugar to egg whites, 1 tbsp at a time, beating after each additional sugar is incorporated. Continue beating until stiff peaks form. Spread meringue on top.
Bake at 325°F until meringue is brown.
