Ingredients

This Hershey’s chocolate cake is fudgy, fluffy, and drowning in frosting. Rich. Moist. Iconic.

Cake:

2 cups sugar

1¾ cup + 2 Tbsp all-purpose flour

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1½ tsp baking powder

1½ tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

2 large eggs (room temp)

1 cup buttermilk

½ cup oil

2 tsp vanilla

1 cup boiling water (or hot coffee)

Directions

Mix dry ingredients. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Stir in hot water—batter will be thin. Pour into 2 greased 8” pans.

Bake at 350°F for 30–35 mins.

Frosting:

½ cup melted butter

⅔ cup cocoa powder

3 cups powdered sugar

⅓ cup milk

1 tsp vanilla

Mix until smooth and fluffy. Frost between layers and all over. Slice. Serve. Swoon.
