Ingredients

1/2 cup all purpose flour, spooned and leveled

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon white sugar

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

1.5 tablespoons cold salted butter, cut into small pieces

1/4 cup milk, whole milk preferred

1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Directions

Makes 2 biscuits for 1-2 people.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add the cubed cold butter and use either your hands (my preferred method) or a pastry to blender to quickly cut the butter into the dry ingredients. It should resemble course sand with some butter pieces no bigger than a pea.

Add the milk and stir to combine then fold in the shredded cheese until the dough just comes together. It will be pretty sticky.

Scoop the dough into two mounds with a few inches in between on the lined baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.

Enjoy warm.
