Refrigerator Dill Pickles

Ingredients

1 gallon jar:

1 qt. white vinegar

3 qt. water

1/4 cup sugar

3/4 cup salt

1/2 tsp. alum

7-8 large dill

2-4 small onions

Directions

Boil brine and cool. Pour over cucumbers and let set in refrigerator a few weeks (2-3). Then eat - they are delicious.

Notes

I make my brine and keep adding cucumbers until the jar is full. No need to have them all in at once. Pick them the size you like every day or so. Some of the brine has to be removed as you add cucumbers.
