Chocolate Cream Filling (for cakes)

1/2 cup sugar
1 T. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
1 square chocolate cut up or 1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup milk
1 egg yo0lk
1 T butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Cook sugar, cornstarch, salt, chocolate, and milk together and boil for 1 minute. Then add half of mixture 1 egg yolk slightly beaten. Return to heat and boil 1 more minute. Add butter and vanilla. Nuts or coconut may be added. Fill cake layers when cool.
