Back to Basics - Perfect White Rice

Ingredients

2 cups jasmine rice

4 cups water

½ – 1 tbsp salt (adjust to taste)

1 tbsp butter

Splash of olive oil

Directions

Rinse rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

Heat butter + olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

Add rinsed rice and lightly toast for 1–2 minutes.

Add 4 cups water

Add salt and bring to a boil.

Let boil for 2–3 minutes.

Reduce heat to LOW, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes.

Fluff with a fork, cover again, and let sit for 5 minutes.

Serve and enjoy ✨

Tips:

Don’t skip rinsing → prevents sticky rice

Use a bigger pan → rice cooks more evenly

Don’t stir while cooking

Always let it rest before serving
