Stuffed Green Peppers

Ingredients

6 large green peppers

1 lb ground meat

2 T chopped onion

1 salt

1/8 t garlic salt

1 cup cooked rice

1 15 oz can tomato sauce

3/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese for topping plus additional for meat stuffing

Directions

1. Cut thin slce from stem end of each pepper. Remove seeds and membranes & rinse.

2. Cook peppers for 5 minutes in enough boiling water to cover, then drain.

3. Cook and stir ground meat and onion in 10" skiillet until meat is light brown, drain. Stir in salt, garlic salt, rice and 1 cup of the tomato sauce; heat through. Turn burner off and stir in additional mozzerella cheese.

4. Stuff each pepper with with meat mixture. Stand upright in ungreased 8x8x2 baking dish. Pour remaining sauce over peppers. Cover; Cook in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.. Uncover; cook 15 minutes longer. Sprinkle with cheese, pop back in oven until melted.
