Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie

1 large onion, chopped (1 cup)
1 pound ground beef
½ teaspoon salt
Ground black pepper, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste (optional)
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
½ cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)
1 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
A little vegetable oil (for greasing and cooking)
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch glass pie plate with vegetable oil.
In a skillet over medium heat, add a touch of oil and sauté the chopped onion until soft (about 3 minutes).
Add the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Cook until browned (around 10 minutes). Drain any excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly into the greased pie dish. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese over the top.
In a bowl, whisk together the Bisquick (or flour), milk, and eggs until smooth. Pour this creamy mixture evenly over the beef and cheese layers.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is slightly golden.
Let it cool slightly, then slice and serve warm for a creamy, cheesy comfort dish.
