Ingredients

1 lb ground or finely diced chicken

1 tbsp oil

Aromatics & Crunch

1 small onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh ginger, minced

½ cup mushrooms, finely diced

½ cup water chestnuts, finely diced

Sauce

3 tbsp hoisin sauce

2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)

1 tbsp oyster sauce

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1–2 tsp chili garlic sauce (optional)

To Serve

Butter lettuce or iceberg lettuce leaves

Green onions, sesame seeds

Directions

Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook chicken until fully cooked.

Add onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in mushrooms and water chestnuts; cook until softened.

Add all sauce ingredients. Simmer 2–3 minutes until glossy and flavorful.

Spoon into lettuce cups and garnish.

Quick Tips

Extra saucy: Add 2–3 tbsp water or chicken broth.

Sweet touch: Add 1 tsp brown sugar or honey.

Fresh finish: Lime squeeze or cilantro on top
