Banana Bread Dump Cake

Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray

5 to 6 ripe, medium bananas, peeled and sliced

1 package 2-layer-size yellow cake mix

1 cup half and half

1/2 cup salted butter, melted

2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup chopped pecans

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

Directions

Prep Pan Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 13x9-inch baking pan or dish with nonstick cooking spray.

Assemble Cake Place bananas in the bottom of prepared baking dish. (You should have a generous layer.) Sprinkle cake mix evenly over bananas. In a medium bowl, combine half and half, butter, the 2 tablespoons brown sugar, eggs, cinnamon and salt. Whisk to combine. Slowly pour over cake mix to cover dry ingredients. (It is fine if you still have a few dry patches.) Top with pecans and and the remaining 1/4 cup brown sugar.

Bake and Serve Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack at least 30 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature. Serve with ice cream, if desired.
