1 small Onion (grated)
2 cloves Minced Garlic (fresh)
1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (chopped)
1/4 cup Fresh Mint (chopped)
1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
1/2 teaspoon Ground Allspice
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Salt (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Pepper (to taste)
1/4 cup Pine Nuts (optional)
1 cup Plain Greek Yogurt (or dairy-free yogurt)
1/4 cup Fresh Mint (chopped)
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 clove Minced Garlic (fresh)
1 teaspoon Salt (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon Pepper (to taste)
Directions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine ground meat, grated onion, minced garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, allspice, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined to maintain tenderness.
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
With wet hands, form the meat mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.
Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through with an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
While the meatballs are baking, prepare the mint yogurt sauce by mixing Greek yogurt, chopped mint, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Once out of the oven, let the meatballs rest for a few minutes. Serve warm with the mint yogurt sauce.
