Texas Bob's Grandmother's Biscuits

Yields: 12 biscuits
Ingredients:
– 2 cups flour
– 4 teaspoons baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 5 tablespoons Crisco (shortening)
– 1 cup buttermilk
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
2. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
3. Cut in Crisco using two knives or a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
4. Pour in buttermilk and mix until the dough just comes together.
5. Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly. Roll out and cut into biscuit shapes with a cutter.
6. Place biscuits on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown.
