Jelly Roll

3/4 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg whites
3 egg yolks
3/4 cup sugar
2 T. cold water
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions
Beat egg whites until stiff, gradually add 1/2 cup sugar. Mix egg yolks and water and beat until foamy. Add 1/4 cup sugar, beat until thick. Add vanilla. Fold egg yolk mixture into egg white mixture. Fold in flour, baking powder, and salt.
Line a cooky sheet with greased wax paper. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Turn on a towel dusted with powdered sugar. Remove paper and trim edges. Roll up and cool slightly. Unroll, fill with jelly or jam. Reroll and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Notes
Jelly roll was a favorite at our house too. No doubt we had ice cream with it.
