Swedish Coffee Bread

Ingredients

2 tablespoon sour cream

1/2 cup butter + 1/2 cup butter softened

2 cup sugar

2 cup milk

2 1/4 teaspoon yeast

2 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

1 tablespoon cardamom seeds (crushed fine)

6 cup flour

Directions

Scald milk (heated to 190 degrees).

Add 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar. Stir until dissolved.

Remove from heat and allow to cool some.

In medium bowl, beat eggs. Then add cardamom.

Add milk mixture to egg mixture.

Add yeast and flour. Mix until no dry remains.

Rest 30 minutes covered with plastic wrap.

Add salt then knead until smooth, about 7 minutes.

Let rise until doubled (covered).

Divide dough into half.

Roll out into oblong piece. Spread 1/4 cup softened butter and sprinkle generously with sugar and cinnamon.

Roll up dough and cut into buns. Place buns on cookie sheet.

Cover and let rise.

Bake at 350° for about 18 minutes.
