total timeIngredients
1/2 small or medium cabbage, sliced and chopped
6 pieces bacon
1 can diced tomatoes 28 oz
1/2 onion, diced
1 Tbsp dill, dried
1 tsp garlic, minced
Salt and pepper (to taste)
Directions
In a frying pan, cook the bacon until it is crisp. Drain and reserve the fat. Crumble the bacon into pieces and set it aside on a plate or in a bowl.
While your bacon is cooking, chop up your cabbage.
Add 1 tablespoon of the bacon fat back into the frying pan that you used to cook the bacon. Add your cabbage, garlic, dill and onion and sauté until the cabbage has softened and wilted.
Drain the tomatoes and then add them to the cabbage. Continue to stir for a few more minutes to heat everything through.
Add the crumbled bacon to the cabbage mixture and sauté again for a few minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve!
