Sourdough Biscuits

2 cups flour
1 cup starter
2/3 cup milk
1 T. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
Directions
Measure 1/2 cup flour, the starter, milk and sugar into a bowl., beat until smooth. Cover and keep in a warm place for at least 18 hours. When ready, take remaining flour,
baking powder, soda and salt and cut in shortening. Stir down the sourdough batter and add remaining flour mixture. May need more flour.
Turn on floured surface and knead 30 seconds. Roll 1/2 inch thick, cut biscuits. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Let rise then bake. Makes 18.
Notes
When I got these just right, they were delicious. I used to take them to Von and Wayne's when we went up for supper.
