Ingredients

Inspired by the grocery store version we all know and love, but with a few upgrades like labneh or greek yogurt instead of sour cream, real avocado and fresh cilantro.

½ (16–ounces/454 g) can refried beans

2 tablespoons (30 mL) water

1 cup (250 mL) labneh or full-fat greek yogurt

½ cup (125 mL) salsa

1 avocado, pitted, peeled, and chopped

½ cup (125 mL) halved cherry tomatoes

½ cup (125 mL) pitted black olives, sliced

4 scallions, sliced

1 cup (250 mL) shredded iceberg lettuce

Handful of chopped fresh cilantro, chopped

Juice of 1 lime (optional)

Hot sauce, for drizzling

Corn chips or warm tortillas for serving

Directions

In a small bowl, mix together the refried beans and water. The beans should be loose enough to dollop.

Spread out the labneh on a large platter.

Spoon the beans and salsa overtop so that they are more or less evenly distributed.

Scatter the avocado, tomatoes, olives, scallions, lettuce, and cilantro on top.

Drizzle everything with lime juice (if using) and hot sauce.

Serve immediately with nacho chips or warm tortillas.
