Instant Pot Short Ribs (galbijim)

Ingredients

  • short ribs

  • half a carrot

  • daikon

  • 1 small potato

  • rice cakes ( soak warm water 8 min)

Sauce

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 Korean pear (red apple substitute) = 3/4 cups

  • 1/2 onion

  • 6 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp honey

  • 2 tbsp mirin

  • 1 tbsp garlic minced

  • 1 tsp sesame oil

  • 5 black peppercorns-whole

Directions

Prep Meat

  1. soak in cold water + pour out water

  2. boil for 6-8 minutes

  3. drain + wash

  4. put in instant pot

Cook

  1. blend sauce ingredients

  2. add to short ribs

  3. cook 35 minutes

  4. remove meat, add veggies

  5. put on sauté for 20 min

  6. add rice cakes halfway
