These Baked Apple Fritters

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon salt

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup peeled and diced apples (about 1 medium apple)

2 tablespoons butter, melted

½ cup powdered sugar (for glaze)

1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and sugar.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until combined. Gently fold in the diced apples.

Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, forming small fritters.

Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.

While the fritters bake, make the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk until smooth.

Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritters and serve immediately.
