Mom’s Christmas Sugar & Spice Pecans

Sugar and Spice Pecans

¾ cup sugar

1 egg white

2 ½ tablespoons water

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ tsp. salt

¼ tsp. ground allspice

¼ tsp. ground cloves

¼ tsp. ground nutmeg

8 cups pecan halves (about 1 ¾ lbs.)

Preheat oven to 275.

Combine first 8 ingredients in large bowl; mix well.  Add pecans; stir until evenly coated.

Spread pecans in 15x10x1 inch sheet pan lined with parchment paper.

Bake at 275 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes. Stir halfway; be careful not to burn.  Let cool on parchment paper (remove from hot pan). Store in an airtight container.

Yield:  9 cups.
