Cornbread Corn Casserole

1 (8.5 oz) box cornbread or corn muffin mix (such as Jiffy)

1 (14.75 or 15 oz.) can whole kernel corn, rinsed and drained

1 (14.75 or 15 oz.) can creamed corn, undrained

1/4 cup (2 oz.) salted butter, at room temperature, plus more for greasing casserole dish

2 large eggs

3 Tbsp. sour cream

3 Tbsp. milk

1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chiles

Prepare oven and baking dish:

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13- x 9-inch baking dish with butter.

Mix ingredients:

In a large bowl, stir together cornbread mix, whole kernel corn, creamed corn, butter, eggs, sour cream, milk, and chopped green chiles until just combined. Do not overmix.

Add batter to baking dish:

Pour cornbread mixture into prepared baking dish.

Bake casserole:

Bake 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
