Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredienti

1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup milk

1 large egg

1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tablespoon soy sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup ketchup

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional)

1/2 cup pineapple juice (optional)

1 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tablespoon water

Sliced green onions

Sesame seeds

Fresh pineapple chunks

Istruzioni

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, garlic, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.

Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a lined baking sheet.

Bake for about 20 minutes until cooked through.

While baking, prepare the sauce by simmering ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, and soy sauce in a saucepan until smooth.

Add the baked meatballs to the sauce and coat evenly before serving.
