Fawzia's 'Pressure Cooker' Daal

• Masoor (red lentils) - rinsed but not soaked plus any of the following : onion
tomato
chillies • Mustard seeds
Vejledning
1. Place the masoor in the pressure
cooker
2. Add water (3 cups water: 1 cup
masoor)
3. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional!) and
the vegetables
4. Seal with lid
5. Cook on a medium flame until it
whistles once
Turi down the heat watal it histes Remove from the heat and allow
1. pressure to drop with lid on
8. Once the pressure has dropped, remove the lid. If it is not thick enough boil to reduce.
Tempering the daal
1. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a frying pan
2. Add teaspoon mustard seeds, garlic, chopped tomatoes, and green chillies plus 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
3. Fry in ghee for a few minutes
4. Add the daal and cook until boiling (stirring all the time) Remove from the heat and sprinkle
5. with fresh coriander.
Notater
1 and a quarter cups for 3 servings
