Juicy ground chicken, gingery-garlicky vibes, tender cabbage, and all those layers soaking up the broth = unreal 💯
It’s way easier than it looks and honestly feels like comfort food meets dim sum at home.
Save this one… you’re gonna want to make it 🤤
What you’ll need 👩🏻🍳
2 lbs ground chicken
6 scallions, thinly sliced
6 cloves garlic, grated
2 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
6 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp toasted sesame oil
Chili crisp, to taste (about 2 tsp)
A splash of rice vinegar
1 tsp white pepper
Chinese green cabbage or Napa cabbage, torn into pieces
2 tbsp chicken broth or water (plus a little extra for steaming)
Wonton or dumpling wrappers
Small bowl of water (for dipping wrappers)
Garnish (optional but highly recommended):
soy sauce, chili crisp, scallions, sesame seeds
Make it:
步骤
In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, scallions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili crisp, rice vinegar, and white pepper until well combined.
Prepare your setup:
Meat mixture
Torn cabbage
Wonton wrappers
Small bowl of water
Lightly dip a wonton wrapper into the water (just enough to soften it) and place it at the bottom of a heatproof dish or pan.
Add a thin layer of the chicken mixture, followed by a layer of cabbage.
Repeat the layers — wonton wrapper → meat → cabbage — all the way to the top, finishing with a final layer of wonton wrappers.
Pour 2 tbsp of chicken broth or water over the top (this helps create that soup-dumpling magic).
Place the dish into a larger pan filled with simmering water (water bath). Cover and steam on the stovetop over medium heat for about 35–45 minutes, until fully cooked and juicy.
Let it rest for a few minutes, then garnish with scallions, sesame seeds, chili crisp, and a drizzle of soy sauce.
Enjoy!
