I Repeat; You Will Never Buy Ketchup Again

It’s $7 a bottle for the organic ketchup we buy 🥴😅… so I wanted to see if we could replicate it with *simple* ingredients.

I found this recipe from thevegan8 blog and it was a HIT. Of course we doubled this recipe below because everything is better in bulk and I don’t want to be making ketchup again in a week 🤌🏼

1/2 cup tomato paste

1/2 cup water

1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar

1 tablespoon pure maple syrup (*if you find it a little too acidic add a bit more)

1/2 teaspoon ground garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon ground onion powder

scant 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon fine salt

步骤

Mix in a bowl to remove clumps, then bring to a boil on the stove and reduce heat to a simmer stirring constantly for 4 mins. It will pop all over the place if you stop stirring. 4 mins seems to be the magic number for all the flavours to meld together. Let cool and store in a glass jar or repurpose an old ketchup container ✨
