Brown Rice/Brown Basmati Rice

2 cups brown rice, rinsed & drained

2 cups vegetable broth or water

1/2 teaspoon salt

步驟

Add the rice, water and salt to the pot and stir well.

Close and secure the lid. Select manual and cook at high pressure for 21 minutes, turn off “keep warm” function.

When the timer goes off, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes, then release any remaining steam manually.

Carefully open lid. Fluff rice with fork and serve.

筆記

Using the NR for 10 minutes keeps the rice from sticking to the bottom. You can let it NR the entire time if desired.

You can cook the rice “pot-in-pot” but it requires 2 extra minutes to cook. You do not need to put a lid on the pot. Just put 1 cup+ water in the bottom of the IP, put the rack in and sit the pot on the rack. Cooking smaller amounts works better with pot-in-pot.
