Creamy Cajun Orzo with Smoked Turkey🔥

we LOVE orzo in this household & this was the perfect balance of creamy, cozy, and the perfect kick of spice!! 🤩🤍

Ingredients: (Serves: 2–3)

1 cup orzo

1 ½ cups chicken broth

½ cup heavy cream

1 smoked turkey sausage (about 12–14 oz), sliced

½ white onion, diced

2–3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp oil (for searing)

Seasonings:

1–1½ tsp Cajun seasoning (to taste)

½ tsp paprika

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp garlic powder

salt & pepper, to taste

optional: pinch of chili flakes 🌶️

步驟

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced turkey sausage and sear until golden on both sides (2-3 min. each side). Remove and set aside.

In the same pan, add butter and diced onion. Sauté 3–4 minutes until soft. Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

Stir in chicken broth, then orzo and heavy cream.

Add all seasonings. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.

Let cook 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender and creamy.

Add sausage back in and let everything come together for about 6-8 minutes. Allow the orzo to simmer until it soaks all the liquid :)

Taste and adjust salt, spice, or creaminess if needed.
