Sugar Cookies

Cookies:

1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

½ cup granulated sugar

1 egg

1½ tsp vanilla extract

½ tsp almond extract

2¾ cups flour

1 tsp salt

Icing:

2½ cups powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1½ tbsp light corn syrup

2-3 tbsp milk

Food coloring if desired

Preheat oven to 350

Spray pan with PAM

In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until smooth

Beat in eggs and extracts. Mix well.

Combine flour and salt, then add to mixture. Beat until well blended.

Press dough into cookie sheet wells, fill 2/3 full

Bake 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden brown

Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then remove cookies and finish cooling

For the icing, mix all ingredients unfil smooth, adding the milk I tosp at a time for desired consistency.
