There’s something comforting about a skillet supper that fills the kitchen with the aroma of butter, garlic, and perfectly seasoned chicken. This Southern-inspired favorite comes together in just 30 minutes and is delicious served over fluffy mashed potatoes, rice, or with warm dinner rolls to soak up every drop of the rich sauce.*
What You'll Need
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
4 tbsp butter, divided
1 cup chicken broth
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp honey
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried parsley
Salt
Cracked black pepper
Shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese (optional)
Caramelized onions (optional)
How to Make It
步骤
Season the chicken generously on both sides with paprika, salt, and cracked black pepper.
Heat 2 tablespoons of the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the garlic and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the honey. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet and bring the sauce to a gentle simmer.
Simmer for 5–7 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce slightly. Stir in the dried parsley and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the buttery sauce over each piece. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes.
If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese over the chicken and cover the skillet for 1–2 minutes until melted. Top with caramelized onions for extra flavor.
Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or warm dinner rolls.
