Korean Garlic Cream Cheese Bread

The garlic + butter combo is already amazing, but with a toasty bagel and cream cheese? It’s the perfect Korean-style snack. I didn’t add any sugar to the cream cheese filling since I had this as my first meal, but if you want that bakery-style flavor, definitely sweeten it up a bit!

Korean Cream Cheese Garlic Bagel

Ingredients (for 2 bagels):

2 plain bagels

Cream cheese (enough to fill the slices) @phillycreamchs

80–100g salted butter

3 tbsp minced garlic

2 tbsp honey

1 tbsp dried parsley

Prep the Bagels

Slice each bagel into 6 sections (cut 3 times), about ¾ of the way through — leave the bottom intact so the bagel stays together.

Add the Filling

Fill each gap with cream cheese. I kept mine plain since it was my first meal, but if you want that sweet, bakery-style flavor, you can mix in a little sugar or honey to the cream cheese.

Make the Garlic Butter

Melt 80–100g salted butter in the microwave (about 30 seconds). Stir in the garlic, honey, and parsley.

Coat the Bagels

Dip or brush the bagels generously with the garlic butter mixture, making sure it gets into all the slices.

Bake

Bake in a preheated oven at 340–355°F (170–180°C) for 7-8 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the cream cheese is warm.
