1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup of sugar

1/4 cup water

1 teaspoon of salt

1 tablespoon of corn syrup

1 cup of nuts coarsely chopped (walnuts/pecans/cashews/almonds)

1/2 -1 cup of chocolate chips or a broken up chocolate bar

Grab a heavy bottomed saucepan and your candy thermometer and put the butter, sugar, salt, corn syrup and water into the pan.

Give it a little stir.

Set the heat to medium high and once it starts bubbling take the temperature.

When it reaches 290, remove from heat and pour into a parchment or silicone mat lined 9 x 13 pan.

Sprinkle the chocolate on top and cover for a few minutes.

Spread the chocolate evenly and then add the nuts and press in.

Allow 1-2 hours to set.

Store in a covered container.
