Chewy, golden bagels made fast — no yeast, no boiling, just mix, shape, and bake!

Ingredients (makes 6 bagels)
260g self-raising flour
430g plain yoghurt
½ tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil
Optional toppings:
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Sesame seeds

Preheat your oven to 170°C (fan). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
Make the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, yoghurt, and olive oil until a dough forms. It will be soft and slightly sticky.
Shape the bagels:
Lightly flour your surface. Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces (about 120g each).
Roll each into a ball, then press a hole through the centre with your finger. Stretch the hole wide — it will shrink as they bake.
Add toppings (optional):
Brush each bagel with beaten egg for a golden finish. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
Bake:
Place on the prepared tray and bake for exactly 25 minutes at 170°C, until risen and lightly golden.
Notes
These are best eaten fresh, but they toast well the next day.
If your yoghurt is very thick (like Greek), you may need a splash more oil or a tiny bit of water to loosen the dough.
