Pound Cake

1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

Pinch of salt

1/2 Tsp baking powder

3/4 cup unsalted butter (softened)

1 1/2 cup granulated sugar

4 large eggs

1/2 cup sour cream

1 Tbsp Vanilla paste

OPTIONAL:

Lemon glaze ingredients:

1 cup powdered sugar

2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

1 Tsp vanilla

Pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 350F and line a 9X5 loaf pan with parchment paper.

Mix your flour, salt and baking powder in a medium bowl and set aside.

In a stand mixer bowl with a whisk attachment, add your butter and mix till butter is creamy. Add your sugar and mix until combined. Scrape the bottom of the bowl to make sure there’s no butter stuck to the bottom.

Add one egg at a time and mix till all the eggs are combined.

Take it off the mixer and fold your flour mixture in till almost combined.

Add your sour cream and vanilla. Mix till combined.

Transfer into your loaf pan and bake for an hour to an hour and 10 minutes. Do the toothpick test to make sure there’s no raw batter before pulling it out of the oven.

Cool in the pan for 15 minute before transferring to a wire rack.

OPTIONAL:

For the lemon glaze:

Soft your powdered sugar in small bowl.

Add lemon juice, vanilla and salt. Whisk till combined and smooth.

You can add your lemon glaze over the entire pound cake or on individual slices.
