These wonderfully chewy, crispy cookies feel like the kind of treat many of us used to make for after-school snacks or neighborhood gatherings. Soft centers, little pops of crunch, and plenty of melty chocolate chips make them nostalgic, simple, and always welcome on the cookie plate.

1 cup) butter, softened

1 cup) brown sugar

1 cup) granulated sugar

2) eggs

2 teaspoons) vanilla extract

2 cups) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon) baking powder

1 teaspoon) baking soda

2 cups) rolled oats

2 cups) Rice Krispie cereal

1–2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips

How to Make It

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda; set aside.

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.

Fold in the rolled oats, Rice Krispie cereal, and chocolate chips.

Drop dough onto the baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.

Bake for 9 to 10 minutes, just until the edges turn lightly golden.

Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
