Cake, Grandma Kalka's Apple Sauce

• 50g (¼ cup) granulated sugar

• 5g (2 tsp) ground cinnamon

• 1 package yellow cake mix

• 454g (1-pound jar) applesauce

• 3 large eggs

• Confectioners’ sugar, as needed

Yöntemler

1. Blend the granulated sugar and cinnamon.

2. Grease a 10-inch tube pan and dust it with 1 tablespoon of the sugar-cinnamon mixture.

3. Blend the cake mix, applesauce, and eggs. Beat as directed on the cake-mix package. Reserve 1½ cups of batter. Pour the remaining batter into the pan.

4. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar-cinnamon mixture. Top with the reserved batter.

5. Bake at 350°F for 45 to 50 minutes.

6. Cool in the pan, top side up, for 15 minutes. Invert onto a serving plate.

7. When cool, sprinkle with confectioners’ sugar.
