But let's be real—
For those chocolate milk loving kids the last thing you want to happen is to run out of it!
Make sure you save this because
I put the recipe down below. 🩵
My oldest loves a little bit of
chocolate milk in the morning.
But I want to make sure I'm giving him real chocolate at least and a syrup that doesn't have all the yucky stuff in it.
This syrup bottle is a little over $5 with limited ingredients and while that doesn't seem like much to most, it doesn't seem worth it to me.
So I tried a few recipes for homemade syrup and I have FINALLY found one.
It's inexpensive, takes no time to make, lasts about two weeks (or double the batch to last longer), uses ingredients you likely already have in your pantry, and you can't even tell the difference.
I just want to share it so other
moms can save their money too.
And so they never have to worry
about running out of it again!
Here it is ⬇️
3/4 cup (heaping measure) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup stevia (buy a big bag at @aldiusa for cheap)
1 cup water
1 ½ tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1) Place water, cocoa and sweeteners into a pot.
2) Simmer on medium low, whisking continuously until all is combined and a syrup like consistency starts to form.
3) Remove from heat, whisk in salt and vanilla.
4) Pour into glass measuring up and let cool completely on the counter.
5) Pour into desired container
This lasts us about two weeks, using about a teaspoon or two a day.
